Emmonie Henderson, a 6-foot-2 forward from Edwardsville, Ill., gave a verbal commit to Jeff Walz and the Lady Cardinal Basketball program last night. Henderson is rated as one of the top 50 overall prospects in the 2013 class. She chose Louisville over Tennessee and Purdue. Henderson averaged 15.6 points and 6.8 rebounds a game as a junior.

Henderson visited Louisville over the weekend along with 6-foot-6 forward Mercedes Russell of Springfield, OR. Russell is rated as the top recruit in the country. She has been down to Louisville and Tennessee for the past few months and is expected to make her decision this afternoon. Alexis Montgomery, a 5-foot-9 guard from Beaverton, OR., is a close friend of Russell’s and is also expected to make her a decision public today. Montgomery will decide between Louisville, Hawaii, Seattle University and Virginia Tech.
