Rick Pitino’s infamous thoroughbred, Russdiculous, a horse who Pitino named after Louisville junior guard Russ Smith, is set to make his debut on the race track tomorrow afternoon.  Russdiculous is set for the third race on Saturday at Santa Anita Park, in California. The race is scheduled for 5:02, which means it’ll be ran during the Louisville – USF football game.

Russdiculous is trained by Doug O’Neill. He also trained Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner “I’ll Have Another.” The colt was purchased by Dennis O’Neill, for $145,000 and is owned by the partnership that includes New Jersey Devils CEO and president, Lou Lamoriello. When Pitino was the head coach at Providence, Lamoriello served as the athletic director for the Friars.
