Louisville – Pitt: MVP Predictions

From monsoon type weather to headset failure it’s hard to know what to expect when the Cards face the Pitt Panthers at 11:00 Saturday morning. Here’s my best guess for projecting MVP’s.

Offense

Senorise Perry – Many may go with Teddy Bridgewater here with what is shaping up to be great football weather and the opportunity to throw the ball around. I’m going to go with what has worked well so far. As the leading rusher on the team I expect nothing less that 100+ yards and a TD or two for Senorise. Pitt ranks 49th in the country at rush defense allowing almost 135 yards per game. The Cards should be able to exceed that with the bulk coming from Perry.

Defense

Preston Brown – If I used the same theory with defense as I did with offense the obvious answer would be Calvin Pryor. Instead I’m going with the guy I would most like to see have that breakout performance. Preston is filling very big shoes of the graduation of Dexter Heyman. Many expected this to be his team and to see similar results for him that we saw out of Heyman, and that frankly just hasn’t happened yet. With the bizarre variables that the Cards have faced lately now out of the equation look for Brown to step up his game and prove that he can be that guy we’ve all been waiting to see.
