College football writer Phil Steele has named Louisville sophomore safety Calvin Pryor as a fourth team mid-season All American. Pryor was the only Louisville player to be named to any of Steele’s All American teams.
In five games this season Pryor is Louisville’s leading tackler with 38. He also has an interception and an impressive four forced fumbles.
Pryor earned a starting role for Louisville midway through the season in 2011 and has started every game since. Although Louisville’s defense has a lot of talent returning from last year, Pryor, in my opinion is the one guy that can provide vocal leadership. I think that is something we see from Pryor throughout the remainder of the season.
