Louisville head coach Charlie Strong was a guest this afternoon on the Jim Rome show, a nationally syndicated sports talk radio program.
As you could expect, Rome asked Strong about the Southern Miss game and how the weather impacted the outcome and also about Teddy Bridgewater’s progression as a quarterback.
The best questions came later in the interview when Strong was asked about Arkansas potentially contacting him to become their next head coach and about his loyalty to the University of Louisville.
Here are a few of Strong’s quotes from the interview that should make Cardinal fans feel a lot better about his future here at Louisville.
“The Athletic Director and President here gave me my first opportunity and I owe it to them to uphold what we talked about.”
“You don’t just walk away when you’re building a program.”
“I ask these kids to come here and commit to building this program and then I just walk away and leave? I’m not cut like that, Jim.”
I’ll try to post the audio from the entire interview later today.
