According to multiple sources, Louisville guard Mike Marra suffered a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the season.
Today was the first day Mike had returned to practice after suffering a torn ACL in Louisville’s second game of the season in 2011-12. Rick Pitino called Terry Meiners of 84-WHAS to confirm the news shorltly before 6 PM on Friday afternoon.
Marra’s career as a Cardinal is likely over. This is terrible news for Mike. He’s a great kid who has been dealt some terrible luck in his time at Louisville. From what I’m hearing the team and the staff is taking this news very hard.
I’m speechless at this point. The injuries for this team over the past two years have been unbelievable.

Sad news. I hear, from another site, that he has accepted an offer to be a grad asst. and for that I am grateful. I believe he is under-rated, he did things last year (for the short time he had) that others were not doing, running the back door play for example. His shooting percentage never matched the hype CRP put on him as the greatest high school shooter ever, but he was a valuable asset in team play and a true member of the team.
On another note, this opens a scholarship, for at least next season, and depending on how the rules go, given that he hasn’t played yet this year, for this season. So, the recruiting speculation can begin anew.
