The picture you see above is just one of the four total quarterback sacks that the Louisville Cardinals have on the season. Louisville’s four total sacks on the season is dead last among all eight Big East teams. This is something that Charlie Strong would like to see change.
“We missed four sacks on Saturday. We need to finish. We would like to have more sacks right now,” Strong said during the Big East coaches teleconference.

For the most part of the season, I don’t think the Louisville defense has been able to get enough pressure to the quarterback, but as Strong said, Saturday was a different story. There were multiple opportunities to sack both of FIU’s quarterbacks. Not only did the Cards have a tough time bringing them down, but once they avoided the rush, a play was made more often than not. Getting more pressure will only help get this defense off the field quicker.
