Future Big East Members Having A Rough Season

The Big East conference is coming off a solid weekend on the football field. All five Big East teams that played on Saturday were winners; including a 3-0 record against the ACC. Louisville held off North Carolina 39-34, Pittsburgh shocked the world by knocking off #13 Virginia Tech 35-17 and UConn beat Maryland 24-21. South Florida is the only Big East team that lost in week three. The Bulls lost to conference foe Rutgers on Thursday night 23-13.

While the current Big East teams are fighting for respect, the future members of the league aren’t exactly helping the cause. Through the first three weeks of the 2012 season, the seven future Big East members have a combined record of 6-13.

Win – Akron: 56-14

Loss – #14 Ohio State: 31-16

Win – Florida International: 33-20

Memphis (0-3)

Loss – Tennessee Martin 21-17

Loss – Arkansas State 33-28

Loss – Middle Tennessee 48-30

Houston (0-3)

Loss – Louisiana Tech 56-49

Loss – #22 UCLA 37-6

Southern Methodist (1-2)

Loss – Baylor 59-24

Win – Stephen F. Austin 52-0

Loss – Texas A&M 48-3

San Diego State (2-1)

Loss – Washington 21-12

Win – Army 42-7

Win – North Dakota 49-41

Boise State (1-1)

Loss – Michigan State 17-13

Win – Miami (OH) 39-12

Navy (0-2) will join Big East in 2015

Loss – Notre Dame 50-10

Loss – Penn State 34-7
