–This year’s schedule includes 18 home games with 18 games on national television.
–Rick Pitino will face two of his former assistant coaches this season. The Cards will host Steve Masiello and his Manhattan Jaspers on Sunday Nov. 11 for the season opener. Richard Pitino, who is entering his first season at FIU, will travel back to Louisville to face his father on Wednesday Dec. 19.
–Louisville will travel to play at College of Charleston on Tuesday December 4. C-of-C isn’t your typical non conference road opponent for the Cards. However, Rick Pitino’s daughter, Jacqueline, is a student there.
–The Cards will take on Western Kentucky in Nashville on Dec. 22. It’s always nice to get some experience with neutral site games.
–Louisville will have a week off prior to the game against Kentucky on Dec. 29.
–Twenty of Louisville’s 31 games will be played against teams that participated in post-season competition l-last season, including at least 13 from the NCAA Tournament.
–Six of the first 12 games will be on the road or at neutral sites.
–All eight teams in the Battle 4 Atlantis participated in post-season play last season, including five in the 2012 NCAA Tournament — Louisville, Duke, Memphis, Missouri and VCU.
