For the first time since week four of the 2007 season, the Louisville Cardinal Football team is ranked in the AP Poll. In entering just his third season at Louisville, Charlie Strong has his team in the initial preseason AP rankings. The Cards came in at #25 in the poll, which was released earlier this morning.

I don’t buy into the team getting “big headed” from being ranked. I think these guys feel that they deserve this considering how hard they have worked to get the program back to where it belongs. Just think, there is still a lot of work to be done. This is definitely something to be excited about. Being ranked in the preseason poll doesn’t really mean anything unless you go out and prove you belong, but just getting some respect on a national level should make the program feel good.
