As expected, 5-star point guard Tyler Ennis has verbally committed to Syracuse. Ennis, a Toronto native had favorite Syracuse for quite some time. He chose the Orange over Louisville, Memphis, UCLA and Illinois.

Ennis had been on Louisville’s radar since 2010, but never made a visit to campus. It had been pretty evident throughout the summer that Syracuse would be his decision. The Louisville coaching staff shifted their attention to other point guards midway through the summer.

There are still plenty of options for Louisville at the point guard position in the 2013 class. As of right now, I think JUCO PG Chris Jones is the top target for the Cards, with Anthony “Cat” Barber being very close behind. Jones has a lot of schools after him at this point and doesn’t appear to be ready for a decision anytime soon. Louisville is in good shape though. Cat Barber has Louisville in his list of four, which also includes North Carolina State, Alabama and Kansas. Barber will visit Louisville on September 8th. Indiana native Demetrius Jackson is also being pursued by the Louisville staff and has a scholarship offer from the Cards. He is also expecting to visit Louisville at some point over the next couple of months.
