Former Louisville signee Brandon Snell has landed at Southeastern Louisiana University, an FCS division one school in Hammond, LA. SELU is a member of the Southland conference and finished the 2011 season with a 3-8 overall record.

Snell, a 5-foot-11 175-pound wide-receiver from Miami FL. verbally committed to Louisville in May of 2011 and signed with Charlie Strong’s 2012 class. Harold Barnwell, the head coach at Carol City High School in Opa Locka, FL., confirmed with TheCardinalConnect.com in early June that Snell had decommitted from Louisville and would look into his other options. Apparently Snell was asked to grayshirt for the 2012 season which led to both sides parting ways.

Snell had scholarship offers from Kentucky, Cincinnati, Rutgers, and Illinois. However, because he signed a letter of intent with Louisville he was not allowed to attend/sign with another FBS school.

Louisville looks to be stacked at the wide receiver position, but I honestly thought Snell was one of the biggest sleepers for Charlie Strong’s 2012 class. He’s off to a fast start at SELU. Snell finished with over 100 yards and two touchdown catches in their first scrimmage on Saturday evening.

  1. Correction: Southeastern Louisiana is in the Southland Conference. By the way, Brandon Snell has been outstanding so far in camp … very good football player … thanks.
