Tyler Ennis, a 5-star point guard out of St. Benedicts Prep in Newark, NJ, is set to announce his college decision tomorrow night. His announcement will be broadcast live on CIA Bounce TV. Although Ennis attends prep school in New Jersey, he is a native of Canada. The 6-foot-3 point guard will choose between Syracuse, Illinois, Louisville, Memphis and UCLA.
“Tyler wants to do it before he goes back to school,” his father, CIA Bounce coach Tony McIntyre, recently told Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog.com.
Rick Pitino has been in contact with Ennis throughout the summer, but at this point, I think Syracuse is the clear favorite. Ennis has made it clear that he’s a fan of Syracuse. The school is also relatively close to his home in Toronto. Syracuse assistant coaches were in attendance for every one of Ennis’ games throughout the month of July.
If Louisville loses out on Ennis, let’s not panic just yet. The Louisville staff is in good shape with quite a few point guards in the 2013 class. Anthony “Cat” Barber, a 5-star point guard from Hampton, VA. will visit Louisville on September 8th.
