Louisville head coach Charlie Strong has confirmed that redshirt sophomore wide receiver Michaelee Harris has torn the ACL in his left knee. He suffered the injury by planting his foot while running a route in a non-contact drill during practice on Thursday. Harris will likely miss the entire 2012 season.

“He provides so much energy to the team and; to watch any player go down it’s not a good feeling for me,” Strong tells C.L. Brown of the Courier-Journal.

Harris missed the entire 2010 season after tearing the PCL in his right knee during the opening week of practice. He was able to bounce back in 2011 and led the Cards in receiving yards. Unfortunately, prior to the Belk Bowl, Harris suffered another serious injury, tearing the PCL in his left knee.

You can’t help but feel absolutely terrible for Michaelee. Not only will this tough to get past physically, but mentally as well. I’m hearing Harris is in good spirits and is staying positive. We wish him a speedy recovery.
