Louisville redshirt sophomore Michaelee Harris has reportedly suffered another knee injury. I’m currently unsure of the severity of the injury, but I will update you as soon as I have more information. Regardless if this is a serious injury or just a minor setback, Michaelee has had a very tough road with injuries during his Louisville career.

As a true freshman in 2010, Harris tore his posterior cruciate ligament in a non-contact drill during practice. This injury caused him to miss the entire 2010 season after being one of the top receivers during the first couple weeks of practice. Prior to the Belk Bowl last season, Harris tore the PCL in his other knee which caused him to miss the bowl game and all of the spring practices.

Harris was Louisville’s leading receiver last season with 37 receptions for 455 yards. He had been very limited in practice throughout the first week, due to his previous injuries.

Since being the head coach at Louisville, Charlie Strong and his entire staff have not publicly spoke about injuries and I don’t expect that to change in 2012. I doubt we see an official release on the injury, but I’ll be sure to provide more information as soon as I can.
