The pairings for the 2012 Battle 4 Atlantis were released earlier this afternoon. Louisville will serve as the top seed in the tournament and will face Northern Iowa in their first game in the Bahamas. Eight total teams will participate in the second annual Battle 4 Atlantis on November 22-24, 2012. All gams will televised live from the 3,900 seat arena at the famed Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island, Bahamas on AXS TV and NBC Sports Network.
The Battle 4 Atlantis first game brackets beginning on November 22 are as follows:
Game 1: Missouri vs. Stanford (live at 1:00pm ET on AXS TV)
Game 2: Duke vs. Minnesota (live at 3:30pm ET on AXS TV)
Game 3: Memphis vs. VCU (live at 7:00pm ET on NBC Sports)
Game 4: Louisville vs. Northern Iowa (live at 9:30pm ET on NBC Sports)
Louisville’s out of conference schedule hasn’t been as tough as some Louisville fans would’ve liked over the past few years. That will definitely be changing this season. The Battle 4 Atlantis will be the toughest early season tournament in college basketball in 2012-13. If the Cards end up facing Memphis twice (once meeting already scheduled) and Duke or Missouri, they may end up with one of the toughest schedules in the country.
