James Young, a 6-foot-6 small forward from Troy, MI., has recently started hearing from the Louisville staff. The Cardinals aren’t currently at the top of his list, but talks between Louisville & Young have recently started to heat up.
Young is rated as a 5-star prospect and is considered to be one of the top 10 overall players in the 2013 class. He had a sensational summer on the AAU circuit playing with “The Family.” Young currently has scholarship offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Arizona, Michigan State, Kansas and Syracuse. Kentucky had been thought to be the clear-cut favorite for the past couple of months, but Young appears to be open to listening to other programs right now. The Michigan native plans to take some unofficial visits over the next couple of months. Don’t expect him to make a decision anytime soon.
Young’s performance at the Peach Jam is what caused Louisville to start picking up the pace on his recruitment. The southpaw averaged 21 points and 8 rebounds per game in the event. He is one of the top overall scorers in the 2013 class.
