The past year has been an incredibly rough one for former Louisville point guard Edgar Sosa. In September of 2011, Sosa suffered a gruesome injury, breaking both bones in his lower right leg, while playing for the Dominican Republic national team in Argentina. Sosa made a miraculous recovery and was back on the court in less than nine months.

Sosa’s road to recovery hit a severe roadblock last night, as he broke his left foot while playing for the Dominican Republic in a scrimmage against Team USA. Sosa went down towards the end of the fourth quarter and had to be helped back to the locker room. Initially it was unclear what exactly the injury was. ESPN’s Kevin Pelton confirmed late last night that it was in fact a broken foot.

If there is anyone that can make it through tough times like these, it’s Edgar Sosa.
