According to Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld.com, former Louisville swingman Terrence Williams is receiving interest from the Sacramento Kings, Detroit Pistons and Phoenix Suns. Williams is currently an unrestricted free agent.

After being cut from the Houston Rockets during the middle of last season, Williams signed a ten-day contract with the Sacramento Kings. T-Will performed quite well in those ten days, which earned him a contract for the rest of the 2011-12 season.

Since being taken in the lottery of the 2009 NBA Draft by the New Jersey Nets, Williams has spent time with three different teams in his three year career. Williams has been benched numerous times over the past there seasons and was the first player to ever be sent to the NBA’s developmental league for disciplinary reasons.

On December 15, 2010, Williams was traded from the New Jersey Nets to the Houston Rockets in a three-team trade also involving the Lakers. A fresh start appeared to be exactly what Williams needed. However, he had no luck cracking the depth chart in Houston.

Being cut by the Houston Rockets appears to have been the perfect wake-up call for Williams. His 18 games with the Sacramento Kings was by far his most successful stint in the NBA. Williams averaged 8.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.1 assists in those 18 games.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that Terrence Williams is talented enough to be an All Star in the NBA. Yes, an All Star. I realize he has a long way to go, but the only thing that has ever held Williams back was his off the court attitude. If he can put that behind him, the sky is the limit. T-Will is arguably the most athletically talented player to play at Louisville in the last 20 years.
