According to Matthew Hatfield of VirginiaPreps.com, redshirt junior Mike Privott will transfer from the Louisville football program. Privott will enroll at Norfolk State University in Virginia where he will have two years of eligibility remaining. Privott was recruited as a linebacker in Louisville’s 2009 class, but spent most of his time on the field playing special teams.
Privott, a onetime 3-star recruit was one of the top rated prospects to sign with Louisville during the Steve Kragthorpe era. The Virginia native chose the Cards over UConn, Maryland, N.C. State, North Carolina and West Virginia.
Privott redshirted in 2009 and saw action in just three games since Charlie Strong took over at Louisville. Norfolk State is a FCS school, which means Privott will not have to sit out for a season and be eligible to play right away. The Spartans are coming off a 9-3 season where they finished as the MEAC Conference Champions.
