Former Louisville wide receiver Anthony “Tiger” Jones has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. Jones was most recently a member of the Philadelphia Soul Arena Football League. Jones has spent the past few years in the AFL, where he’s been one of the top receivers in the league.

With the Arena League being in the middle of their season, Jones had to break the news to the organization this morning that he’d no longer be playing with the Soul this year. In his first season with the franchise, Jones leads the team in every receiving category and would have broken the team record for receptions. His 2,010 receiving yards top the AFL and his 47 touchdowns are third. The Soul are currently 13-3 and are chasing an Arena League championship.

“When you put in this much work, spend 3 to 4 months with these guys and set goals for the team, it’s hard not to see it through to the finish line,” Jones said. “It’s definitely bittersweet, but you can’t pass up an opportunity like this. They don’t come around like this every day, especially in the Arena league. A lot of NFL guys look at us like we can’t make the transition. For them to give me a shot says something.”

Tiger, Tiger Jones, y’all!
