Earlier this afternoon, the Big East Conference announced the matchups for the 2012-13 college basketball season. Each of the 15 teams will play four teams home-and-home, while also facing the 10 remaining teams once apiece. Louisville will play Syracuse, Notre Dame, Seton Hall, and South Florida twice next season. Click here to view each Big East teams conference schedule.
Cuse is expected to be a top ten team next season, therefore Louisville’s strength of schedule will benefit from playing them twice. Considering Boehiem and the boys’ last year in the Big East, I’m actually excited to play them twice. It’s usually a pretty good match-up when the two teams play.
I’m not exactly sure what to expect from Notre Dame this season, but regardless of their record, they have been known to give Louisville some trouble in the past. Seton Hall loses Theodore and Pope, but Willard will definitely have the Pirates competitive. The jury is still out for South Florida, in my opinion. Who knows if last year’s run is a fluke or not.
