Louisville freshman-to-be, Montrezl Harrell had made the USA Basketball Men’s U18 National team. Harrell, a 6-8 power forward was named as one of the 14 finalists for the team on Friday morning. The offical 12-man roster was released late last night.
The Junior National Team will represent the USA in the 2012 FIBA Americas U18 Championship, which will be played on June 16-20 in Sao Sebastiao do Paraiso, Brazil.
Uncommitted 2013 forward Austin Nichols and North Carolina-bound big man Joel James were the last two players to be cut. According to a few of the scouts who were in attendance at training camp this week, Harrell absolutely abused Joel James.
I know it sounds like a broken record at this point, but Louisville is getting a big time player in Harrell. I think he will be an immediate impact guy for a number of different reasons.
